I first met Lex on the film set of Cinderella in 2013. Then worked alongside him and Jane out in Rome filming Ben Hur. I realised while working with him, he had a good interest in showjumping. So in 2016 I made the move to be based with them in Thame, Oxfordshire. They welcomed both myself (and my horse!) into their home/stables and for that I am eternally grateful. I gained more experience here in those 2 years than I have anywhere else. I discovered my passion for competing again. It was brilliant to have an owner and trainer in one. I never once saw disappointment or anger, not even when we travelled over 3 hours away for a second round and I had a pole down on all 3 horses! He would just say “never mind”. Evening homework would be watching international showjumping classes on tv, discussing form and jump off turns! I loved it. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you for all you did for me. Goodnight Mr Ruddiman, you will never be forgotten xx
