In about 1974 I worked for Lex when he was dealing in show jumpers at Wheatham Farm near Liss in Hampshire. 

I rode several horses in a morning from Grade A show jumpers down. I also rode the horses at Stocklands, Forest Mere, when Lex was called in to sell the horses prior to it closing down.

My then husband was his farrier and Lex was a guest at our wedding.

I was sad to find out today that he had passed so young.
